A deadline of two weeks has been issued by the governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and others to pay off the outstanding debts on campaign posters and billboards.
According to the news report, the governor disclosed this information in a statement that was distributed by Tony Odili Ujubuonu, who serves as the Managing Director of the Anambra Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA).
He added that other candidates and their parties had also been given the ultimatum to pay any lingering debts on posters and billboards in the state.
Ujubuonu further stated that the agency had taken actions toward sanitizing outdoor advertising practices in the state. He added that the deadline, which was set for December 5, 2022, would not be extended and that enforcement would begin after that date.
The statement reads, ” The Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, through a letter dated 14th November 2022, urged all out- of- home advertising practitioners in the state to revalidate and register all their billboards.
” The agency expected maximum cooperation from the practitioners in terms of registering their billboards and payment of campaigns but are yet to get such.
” As a result of the above, the agency has directed all billboard owners to provide the information required to register each billboard and also pay up for any campaign on them.
