Dino Melaye, the presidential spokesman of Atiku Abubakar’ s campaign has released a statement regarding why the PDP would commence its presidential campaign in the southern region on Monday.
In a statement made public on Saturday, he revealed that Atiku Abubakar is a Northener who has always insisted that the people of Nigeria should be one, hence, he is trying to lead by example to make sure the presidential campaign of the party starts from the Southern part of Nigeria.
Also, he made it clear that out of the number of presidential candidates in the country at the present moment, Atiku Abubakar is the most popular and the most accepted presidential candidate because he is now across the 36 states of the country including the federal capital territory which is known as Abuja.
Meanwhile, there are rumors in the PDP that the PDP presidential campaign would go on with or without the contribution of Wike and a few other governors who are members of the party.
The camp of Wike had pulled out of the PDP presidential campaign council a few weeks ago due to the inability of the PDP chairman to step down. Wike is also believed to have promised the PDP that he would assist the party to lose the forthcoming presidential election if Iyorchia Ayu does not resign his appointment.
Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate in one of his statements, revealed that Iyorchia Ayu can not be forced to resign but he can be removed from the position of the PDP chairman if the law of the party is changed.
