African Giant and the Odogwu of Afrobeat, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, better known within the showbiz space as Burna Boy has earned another global career milestone.
The Grammy award-winning musician and highly rated Nigerian singer has hit a major milestone with the official music video of his monster hit tune ‘Last Last’ which was released as a lead single off his ‘Love, Damini’ studio album.
The self-directed music video for the chart-topping song which was released on Thursday, May 12, 2022, has garnered a hundred million views on online video sharing and social media platform, YouTube.
This comes after the news of America’s DJ Khaled confirming an upcoming project with the Nigerian superstar. Burna Boy, ‘Last Last’ joins other hits like ‘Ye’ and ‘On The Low’ to surpass the 100 million views mark.
MEANWHILE: Raving Nigerian musician and songwriter, Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa-Donus, better known by his stage name, Joeboy was honored at the 2022 BMI London Awards.
The multifaceted recording and performing artiste was honored for his contribution to Ckay’s monster hit single, ‘Love Nwantiti’ which also features award-winning Ghanaian singer, Kuami Eugene.
The songwriters, including the emPawa Africa prodigy, Joeboy as well as the publishers of ‘Love Nwantiti’ were awarded at the ceremony which was held at London’s Savoy Hotel on Monday, October 3, 2022.
The ceremony was hosted by BMI president, chief executive Mike O’Neill, and BMI Europe vice president of creative Shirin Foroutan. ‘Love Nwantiti’ was among the songs that were awarded under the ‘Most-Performed Songs of the Year’ category. This category honors songs that have received the most airplay on terrestrial radio, satellite radio, and digital streaming services in the previous year. Taking to the bird app via his verified handle, Joeboy acknowledge CKay for putting him on the record. He wrote; “Blessed to be on this record, big love @ckay_yo”.
