Recall that the 23 victims still held captive by the terrorists were freed after a Presidential Committee appointed by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, to investigate the kidnapping of victims of the Kaduna-Abuja train incident.
The CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh , responded by praising the federal government for releasing the victims in a statement.
He claimed that the development showed both that the authorities were serious about their work and that they were prepared to marshal the necessary political will to put an end to the reign of terror in some areas of the nation.
“We commend President Muhammadu Buhari for this development,” Okoh, CAN president said. “This signposts the efforts of the Federal Government at combating our common enemy as a nation—insecurity.”
