In Kogi State, nine family members have died mysteriously for the second time in as many days. The incident was reported on Monday in Nagazi, Kogi State’ s Adavi Local Government Area. The latest incident occurs just a few days after four family members died strangely in Mopa- Muro, Kogi State’ s Local Government Area, over the weekend.
Reporters confirmed on Monday evening that the event in Nagazi resulted in five family members dying at the scene before four were rushed to the hospital. According to sources, the remaining four died at an unrevealed hospital in the area.
According to a family member who did not want his name used, the father of the dead victims has been apprehended, while the mother is still being treated at an unrevealed hospital. He stated that they do not yet know the exact cause of death, but they suspect food poisoning or a spiritual strike.
As of the time of filing this report, all attempts to speak with Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) William Ovye Aya had failed. He didn’ t answer the phone or respond to text messages sent to his phone numbers.
According to findings, the family made the’ Amala’ meal with residual cassava flour from which they had made previously and eaten Fufu. They were said to have left the treated shafts out in the sun to dry for a few days. The crisped flakes were ground into a soft powder, which was then used to make Amala, which they ate the night before bed.
