A video is currently in circulation which shows the moment the dreaded unknown gunmen captured a suspected Nigerian police officer and tortured him before threatening to end his life for joining the Nigerian Police Force instead of their movement.
According to SaharaRepoter who shared the now- viral video, the captured policeman is identified as Gabriel Anyanwu. Gabriel is reported to be serving at the Imo State Criminal Investigation Department and also attached to the Public Relations Unit of the state police command.
Although no information about where and when the video was shot, it is believed that the officer was abducted sometime last week by unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
In the now- viral video obtained by SaharaReporters, the policeman is seated on the floor, eliciting pained expressions from serious bleeding from his leg. It appears that he had been shot in his right leg to render him immobile while they tortured and torment him.
One of the gunmen recording the video was heard in the background threatening to kill Gabriel for being a member of the Nigeria Police Force, instead of joining ” the moving train” . They threatened to end his life and used him as a scapegoat for other youths in the southeast who wanted to join Nigerian security forces including the local Ebubeagu to think twice.
