MyZimbabweNews reports that a 23- year- old lady has been sexually assaulted by her neighbor in Westlea, Zimbabwe, after he saw that she was was intoxicated.
It was gathered that the 25- year- old male neighbor named Munyaradzi Hanyani pulled her to his residence when he saw that she was drunk.
Hanyani was taken into custody at Mabelreign Police Station, according to Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, a spokesman for the Harare provincial police, who verified his detention.
According to Insp. Chakanza, ” police are investigating a case involving a woman who was raped by her neighbour in Westlea. ”
It was gathered that the complainant and the accused are acquaintances and reside in the same neighborhood. It was said that they were enjoying beers with their friends around 3am on that day, in Westlea stores.
The inspector further stated that, ” complainant offered to escort the accused home since he was drunk. When they arrived at accused`s place of residence, the accused dragged the complainant into his room. The accused was reported to have had unprotected s3xual intercourse with the complainant twice without her consent. ”
The victim was then sent to the Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for a medical evaluation when the complainant returned home, and subsequently filed a police case against the accused individual.
