Muslim-Muslim Ticket: If my father could do it in 1993, why can’t Tinubu do it now – Rinsola Abiola
Yesterday, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, announced former governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, as his running mate for the 2023 general election. With Tinubu and Shettima both Muslims, controversy has since trailed the announcement.
Reacting to that, Rinsola Abiola, who is the late daughter of Moshood Abiola, an APC Member while on AIT this morning, said she doesn’t think anybody can come forward to say Shettima as governor of Borno state was discriminatory against Christians as he was a leader for all, a man who stood for equity and fairness.
Rinsola also said, at this point in history in Nigeria, it was the same country where her father, Moshood Abiola, was elected as president in 1993, with a Muslim running mate also from Borno state, and if he could do it, then, why can’t Tinubu do it now as there is a lot of talks, about how things seem to be different now in Nigeria but as Tinubu said, we are Nigerians and the spirit of 1993 is upon us as that has been the fairness election in the history of the country and about to replicate that feet once more.
Rinsola also said Tinubu is fit to take over the helm of affairs. Drop your comments below.
