My Collaboration With Fireboy Is The Biggest Afrobeat Song In England – Ed Sheeran

Popular British singer, Ed Sheeran has said that his collaboration with Nigerian musician, Fireboy DML, is the biggest Afrobeats song in the world.

The multi award-winning artiste was talking about the remix of Fireboy’s hit single, Peru and how he felt working on the project.

Ed Sheeran made the statement while granting a radio interview on The Breakfast Club as he also said that Peru is the best selling record in England.

According to the music star cum actor, sadly, the friend who linked him up with the Nigerian Afrobeats singer passed away in February.

He also said that Peru remix is the second biggest selling song of the year, and he never knew that it would be as big as it has become.

Scooper News had earlier reported that recently Fireboy DML revealed how he made the song, Peru.

He said that some part of the lyrics was inspired by DMW artiste, Peruzzi, who usually uses a hook on his songs.

Fireboy noted that when he said ”I’m looooo, Peru don dey para”, that it was an allusion to Peruzzi.

Speaking in a recent interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1, the YBNL Nation added that he recorded the song because he found himself in the United States for the first time.
