A suspected notorious female kidnapper known as Joy Kolapo has been taken into custody by the Lagos State Police Command.
Reports stated that her arrest was a direct result of the intelligence obtained by the security service during the investigation into the kidnapping of Bright, who was just three years old at the time.
According to a statement released on Sunday by Benjamin Hundeyin, who serves as the department’ s Public Relations Officer, the event took place in the Ejigbo neighborhood on October 27, 2022.
The suspect, who is 28 years old, was taken into custody by investigators from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) last week.
Joy was apprehended in the Omi Adio region of Oyo State together with another victim, Moses, who was 7 years old and had been taken from the Olopo Meta neighborhood.
On the day that the woman was taken into custody, however, the police were able to save Bright in Akute, which is located in the state of Ogun.
After further inquiry, it was discovered that Joy was a neighbor of Bright’ s parents and had been compensated the sum of N55, 000 for Bright’ s safe return.
She then departed after bringing the girl to her friend’ s shop in Akute, pleading with her to watch the child while she went shopping, and taking the boy with her.
