BENUE State Governor, Samuel Ortom Gives Iyorchia Ayu Two Options To Choose One Amid PDP Crisis
According to the Nation, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the People’ s Democratic Party (PDP), has been urged by Benue Governor Samuel Ortom to quit or ask for forgiveness.
For the first time, Ortom, the governor of Ayu, his home state, has publicly requested that he step down.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers is part of a group of governors who have been urging the PDP National Chairman to step down and be replaced by a southern governor.
According to them, Atiku Abubakar, the party’ s presidential candidate, can only have their support if this is the case.
Ortom reminded Ayu of his vow to resign from the party if a northern candidate won the party’ s presidential nomination and urged him to keep his word during the Executive Council meeting in Government House Makurdi over the weekend.
