PDP CRISIS! ! ! Resign Now Or Beg For Pardon, Ortom Tells Ayu

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has advised the National Chairman of the People’ s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, to either resign from his position as the party chairman or ask for a pardon.

Meanwhile, it is important to know that some aggrieved members of the party, especially Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Ortom, have demanded that Ayu must resign from his position for peace to reign in the party.

Other members who also called for the removal of Ayu as party chairman are Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

The members have criticized Ayu’ s choice to continue serving as party chairman despite that he made a promise before the primary election to step down from his position northern emerge as the PDP presidential presidential candidate.

Recently, Ortom, Wike, and other members of the PDP who are upset with Ayu withdrew their support from the presidential campaign of the party until Ayu is gone.

Ortom reminded everyone present at the weekend’ s meeting of the Executive Council that took place in Government House Makurdi that Ayu had committed to stepping down from his position if a northern candidate was selected as the party’ s presidential candidate.
