Reasons I withdrew from PDP governorship primary – Peter Obi’s running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed
The reason why Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign in Kaduna State has been made public.
Peter Obi, a candidate for president from the Labour Party (LP), chose Baba-Ahmed as his running mate on Friday.
Later, he stated during an interview on Channels Television’s Politic Today.
“God did not make me to be someone who will purchase delegates’ votes, thus I withdrew from the PDP governorship campaign in Kaduna.
“And I spelled out unequivocally that I wasn’t looking for a job. I went there to improve a terrible circumstance.
“I stated I just can’t do it when it became clear that buying votes was necessary. I respectfully backed out of the race.
“And I assured them that I would stick by the party and be loyal to it. But as time went on, it became obvious that they feared me and that I had no place in the celebration.
