According to him, this is good for democracy as the choice is now left to Nigerians to elect.

The controversial preacher noted that the emergence of Peter Obi as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has dwindled down various agitations in the South East.

‘It is now clear that the outcry was a political gimmick to get power.’

Sheikh Gumi also opined that the agitation for Oduduwa Republic has reduced in the South West since Bola Ahmed Tinubu clinched the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress. He further explained that Kwankwaso’s emergence as NNPP’s presidential candidate has also satisfied a particular segment of the Northern region who felt they have been suppressed or marginalised.

According to Sheikh Gumi, Zamfara which witnessed a high wave of insurgency earlier this year is now peaceful because the residents have gone into a peace treaty with the bandits. The Islamic preacher known for his stance on negotiating with bandits reiterated that peace works more than violence.
