The Kebbi State Police Command have detained two men in connection with the suspected rape of two kids in Danko/Wasagu and Augie local government areas of the state.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the command’ s Public Relations Officer, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Magaji- Kontagora, explained that a 30- year- old man named Christopher Pills, who lived in Bena town of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of the state, allegedly raped a girl who was nine years old.
The police went on to state that the suspect would be charged tp court as soon as the investigation was over, noting that the victim’ s father reported the suspect to the police, which led to his arrest.
According to him, the police had also detained another man named Anas Dantalli, who is 19 years old and is from Nawada Illela Kwaido in the Augie LGA, for sexually assaulting a young girl.
According to the CP, the victim’ s father, Mr. Rugga Aliyu of Mashekari Illela Kwaido, Augie Local Government Area, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Augie, that the suspect, Dantalli, pursued his daughters while they were rearing goats and sheep in the bush.
He went on to say that as a result of this, the suspect had carnal knowledge of the girl, and he added that the suspect will be charged in court as soon as investigations were finished.
