What Social Media Said About Late Rico Swavey

LAGOS – While it is no longer news that Big Brother Naija season 3 housemate, Patrick Fakoya popularly known as Rico Swavey is dead, following his involvement in a car crash, the outpouring of emotions on social media has been overwhelming.

Rico’s death was announced by his colleagues, Alex Unusual and Tobi Bakre via their social media pages on Thursday, October 13 morning.

Alex had tweeted a photo of the deceased and said “This was not what we agreed Rico. Rest In Peace #ricoswavey”

Tobi also shared a photo of them together in the Big brother House and said “We love him but thanks a lot guys. God knows best.”

Other personalities and friends equally took to social media to mourn him and pay tributes to his memory.

BBNaija season 3 housemate Bambam shared his video on her Instagram page and said “I’m in denial… my heart is too heavy… it’s shattered into many pieces… I’m truly speechless… no… my home was your home Rico… you and Teddy vibing to great music and playing FIFA till 6am! BBNaija season 4 winner, Mercy Eke tweeted “Rest In Peace Rico.”

Nollywood actor, Damola Olatunji shared a video of Rico and said “Life is too short… What memories of you are leaving? This was Rico last Sunday at the BBNAIJA winner’s party. Today he is gone. This is heartbreaking. May God comfort the family you left behind.”

Nollywood actress Beverly Naya tweeted “Was praying it wouldn’t get to this, RIP Rico. He was literally the sweetest soul, working with him on Tinsel was always such a joy. Always smiling, always joking, always laughing. This is heartbreaking, gone way too soon. Praying for his family and loved ones.”

The DStv family on Instagram also shared, “Thank you for gracing our screens with grit, humour, style and a great attitude. You will be sorely missed Rico. Rest in peace champ. #ricoswavey.”

Season 6 housemate, Pere also commented, “Dear Jesus, give his family the grace to bear this loss. RIP Rico.”
